How fix Star Receipt Printer error 1801
When you print using Star
Receipt Printer SP500 from Point of Sale, you receive an error 1801.
This is the result of Star Receipt Printer SP500 being not set as the default
printer for Point of Sale. To resolve the problem, follow the steps below:
1.Go to Windows
Control Panel (Start>Control Panel. For Windows XP, click on 'Swith to Classic
View'. For Windows Vista, click on 'Classic View'. For Windows 7, select 'Small
Icons' under 'View by:')
2. Open Printers and Faxes' for Windows XP, 'Printers' for Windows Vista, 'Devices
and Printers' for Windows 7.
3. Right-click on the Star Receipt Printer SP500 and open 'Printer properties'
4. Click on 'Print Test Page' to make sure the printer works properly.
5. Go back to QuikChek and open 'Members'.
6. Click on 'File' and 'Setup'.
7. Click 'System' and open 'Advanced Tab' (bottom of the left pane).
8. Click on 'MMgmt Hardware'. Make sure no receipt printer is assigned.
9. Click on Workstaton Icon (top-right) and open 'MMgmt Hardware'
10. Click on the dropdown arrow and set the receipt printer. Only check 'Cash
Drawer Present' if you have a cash drawer connected to printer. Leave it unchecked
if there is none.
11. Click 'Close'.
12. To make sure the printer is ok, go back to QuikChek.
13. Find and select a member.
14. Open Point of Sale.
15. Click 'Other', click 'Refund', and 'Reprint'.
