BC-4000 Access Control Installation Guide

 

 

This product is intended for professional installation by a qualified electrician or a low voltage specialist.

 

The BC-4000 can be easily installed. Open the enclosure by removing the retaining screws and detaching the lid. Locate the field-wiring terminal connector. Attach door, tailgate, and optional door-exit wires as required. Apply +12VDC power to the controller by plugging in the adapter at the barrel plug. Attach one end of the host interface cable (DB9) to the USB to Serial converter then connect USB to Serial converter to a USB port on the PC and then plug other end at the BC-4000 DB9 connector. Appropriately route external wires and cables. Re-attach enclosure lid and secure with retaining screws, being careful not to pinch or bind cable(s).

 

The unit can be secured to a wall or other surface. (Mounting screws and/or other special hardware may be required - not included.) For installation of the 12VDC electronic door strike and hardware please contact your local locksmith.

 

TB-1 Terminal Connections:


The BC-4000 contains a field-wiring block with the following screw terminal connections:

 

1) +12V In/Out (not used)
2) Ground (not used)
3) Door Relay contact (COM)
4) Door Relay contact (N/C)
5) Door Relay contact (N/O)
6) Door exit button / test input
7) Door exit return (GND)
8) Tailgate Relay contact (COM)
9) Tailgate Relay contact (N/C)

10) Tailgate Relay contact (N/O)

 

Note: Only a subset of the above connections may be required in your application.
