Networking QuikChek
(Before starting, you must have your network setup and all computers should be able to see each other.)
First follow the installation instructions for a single workstation.
1. Open My Computer
2. Right click the C: drive and choose Sharing
3. Windows XP - Place a check in 'Share this folder on the network'
4. Place a check mark in 'Allow network users to change my files'
3. Windows 98 - Place a bullet in 'Shared as'
4. Place a bullet in 'Full'
5. Click OK
Standalone server that doesn't use QuikCheK
Create a QC folder on the server. Share this folder on the network, and give full access to this folder. Copy the entire Quickchek folder from your existing main QuikCheK workstation, into the QC folder you just created on the server.
Additional Workstations
Follow the installation instructions for a single workstation.
Now map a T: drive to the C: drive of the server workstation,
or to the QC folder if you have a standalone server. The end result should be
that if you open My Computer, and double click the T: drive you should see a
QuikCheK folder somewhere on the screen.
1. Open My Computer, Open Local Disk [C:], Open Program
files, Open Common Files, Open Borland Shared, Open BDE
2. Double click on a red and yellow icon called Bdeadmin
3. Click the Databases tab on the left
4. Click ONCE on cmCleandata
5. Change the first letter of the PATH on the right side of the screen from C to T. (it should now say T:\QuikCheK\cleandata)
6. Click ONCE on cmToolsdata
7. Change the first letter of the PATH on the right side of the screen from C to T. (it should now say T:\QuikCheK\data)
8. Click the Configuration tab (on the left)
9. Open Configuration, Drivers, Native, Paradox
10. Change the Netdir on the right to T:\
11. PRESS ENTER on your keyboard to save that change
12. Click Object(top of screen)
13. Click Exit, click Yes, click OK if prompted.
