"Unable to open door. Port does not exist" error after logging in the the barcode reader applet

This usually occurs when Ports (COM and LPT) is missing in Device Manager or COM1 is missing. See directions below to fix the error:
1. Open Device Manager
2. Find Ports (COM and LPT) on the list. If it's not listed click the Action tab at the top and Add legacy lardware. a Hardware Install Wizard will pop up. Click Next.
3. Select Install the hardware I manually select from the list (Advanced) and hit Next.
4. Select Ports (COM and LPT) and Next.
5. Select Communication Ports under Model and Next. The installation will then start after you click Next again.
6. Click Finish when done.
7. Go back to Device Manager. You should be able to see
Ports (COM and LPT) included on the list. It will automatically add COM1 once the serial plug of the door is detected.
