***For those purchasing new computers***
We recommend Dell Optiplex computers with Windows XP Pro.
For monitors we recommend a 19" flat panel.

2.0+ Ghz Processor
1024mb RAM
19" monitor (capable of 1024x768 screen resolution or better)
120Gb Harddrive (7200rpm recommended)
Sound card with speakers (For Check-In)
DVD/DVD-RW (Write capability for backups*)
An Uninterruptable Power Supply for ALL QuikCheK stations
Parallel and/or USB ports (for peripherals, scanners, printers)
Any inkjet or laser Printer
A DSL or Cable Internet connection

An internet connection (DSL or Cable is highly recommended)

* You may also use a USB Flash Drive to store backups. 256MB or greater capacity is recommended.

Servers
- You can have a dedicated server, or you can use a workstation as your server.
- Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server are recommended server operating systems.

Network Specs
- DO NOT use a Wireless Network
- Intel or Linksys SWITCH for networking computers
- Intel Express 460T or 410T full duplex switch
- Linksys 16 port 10/100 switch [Item#: C6W4MR]
- Linksys or 3Com 10/100 network card
- DO NOT use HUBS (Far too much data is being transferred over your network for --your hub to handle)
- DO NOT use standalone network printers as your default printer
- Coral Springs Software does NOT setup or troubleshoot networks

Other Specs
- WE DO NOT Recommend External Modems
- Office 2000, not Office XP (we find it annoying, but its fine if you have it) for using Microsoft Word Mailmerge
- Coral Springs Software highly recommends Dell Computers (they're the best!)

Power Outages
An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is HIGHLY recommended for ALL stations running QuikCheK. This is so that if you experience power loss while running QuikCheK, you will have time to logout and shut down your systems, avoiding potential data loss and / or corruption.

Internet
WE DO NOT Recommend having internet access at your front desk computer. Why? Because your front desk staff will be using the internet all day long, surfing the net, downloading software, playing games, sending emails and contracting viruses. We have seen at least 20 clubs lose all of their data over the past 2 years, due to contracting viruses off the internet.
