Go to Toolbox, click Reset scanner. Exit out of QuikCheK, and restart the computer.
Unplug the scanner, and swing it around by the cord numerous times. Plug it back in.
Go outside and light it on fire. Plug whatever is left back in.
Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Reopen QuikCheK.
